Shab Ruffcut was absent from my itunes before May 12, 2009. Seems that I have been grossly missing out. He comes from the UK and makes some hefty tunes indeed. Check this out, first song I got by him and Tee Ski. Nuts-status good.
Shab Ruffcut, Tee Ski – Finger Midget (Original Mix)
After you’ve had a nice helping of that, check this out. Two weeks ago, Shab Ruffcut dropped the single best EP I’ve heard this Year. (Besides Renaissance Man’s “Spraycan,” of course.) The “Twist” single and its remixes are excellent. But when you have remixes by WoNK, Stupid Fresh, Wongo, Edu K, and Bill Eff, how could you go wrong?! Honestly, this is the fidget allstar team, it seems. Each of these remixes is so in the character of the artists. I’m posting the Wongo remix, and the Bill Eff. The Wongo remix is my favorite, the Bill Eff is not my favorite (still great though); Edu K and Stupid Fresh are some talented folks too, but these are still excellent. Shab Ruffcut – Twist (Bill Eff Remix)
Wongo describes his genre has “wig-out” house and he couldn’t have come up with a more fitting name. His drops never slap you in the face and leave you stinging, but his subtlety is most of his talent. (Bumbaclart and Stiletto remixes anyone?) Look out for more Wongo posts in the future, definitely a Squeegie fave.
