it’s so dangerous
Creepy artwork aside, Boris Dlugosch’s release today on Erol Alkan’s Phantasy Sound could not be more on point. Getting spins from Erol himself, Boys Noize, and Hey Today, this is one of the better “crazy pitch-bendy” tech-house tunes you’ll be able to find at the moment. On remix duties is none other than Squeegie favorite and UK house dominator Roska (interview here), who provides a bit more of a stripped down but no less effective vibe on the track. Point is, everything sounds pretty top notch with “Bangkok” and you should buy it here.
some halloween treats
What’s up everybody, Nate Day and Subdivision Management are here to TRICK up your Halloween weekend with four massive bass heavy remixes.
The first being an extra special Halloween offering: Nate Day’s remix of Designer Drugs “Zombies”. This hip-hop inspired Dubstep remix of Designer Drugs’ sinister first release on Iheartcomix Records is already being caned by LA Dubstep icon, 12th Planet. Grab it here first!
Designer Drugs – Zombies (Nate Day Remix)
Second, Nate Day draws from his Drum and Bass roots with this collaboration with fellow Philly Drum & Bass alum Steve Rea to bring this massive remix of Sub Focus‘ “X Ray.” This big ole choon was featured on B.rich’s latest mix and is quite large. God I love it. Happy Halloween for sure, no seriously deeeeeeeeep, nongeneric wobbles and a good melody. Rare mixture.
Sub Focus – Xray (Nate Day And Steve Rea Remix)
To sweeten the deal, well here: Nate Day wanted to toss in his remixes of Major Lazer’s Pon De Floor and B Rich’s Make Me Dance. Nice dubstep take on Pon de Floor, but I think that song is pretty worn out. Great, well produced remix, but of a song that has been remade by everyone and their mother. Loving the Make Me Dance remix. A grinder for sure. The vocals compliment the blaring saws well.

B.rich – Make Me Dance (Nate Day Remix)
Happy Halloween, bitches.
If you are one of those readers out there scrolling through and downloading somewhat randomly just to see what you get (no disrespect to that at all), DO NOT SKIP THAT SUB FOCUS REMIX! If you’re like, ‘hey I would love to play a song that would really wow my friends’ ears right this second,’ then get it.
where are you from, mothafacka
Oh how I love when a favorite song gets remixed the right way. This song destroyed me all summer long, and now it’s back to create some havoc. Squeegie favorite Hot Mouth and Will Bailey give it their signature warblers on the breakdown, yet keep that awesome horn sound throughout the track. It’s hard to top the original, cannot get much funkier, but this is a good track that will surely create a mess of a dancefloor. Enjoy.
Sidney Samson – Riverside (Will Bailey and Hot Mouth Remix) Web Sheriff is a hater, sorry.
new mix!

Hey guys. First off, I’d like to thank you guys for “fan-ing” us on facebook. It’s weird seeing the faces of those that read the blog but I like it a lot. On to the main point of the post, my new mix. I haven’t released a mix in ages so this one is a long time coming. It starts with an ambient/tech-house type vibe, moves into some house/fidget stuff, then dubstep, then some good ol’ grime. I wanted to mix it up a bit (as you can tell). I dedicated it to a fantastic movie character, Bullet Tooth Tony from Snatch (and sampled his fantastic monologue). I love feedback so if you wanna hit up the comments section or email us either one works. Hope you enjoy it! Tracklist after the jump.
you are freaking out. man.
A bit of psychedelia in the dropbox today, coming from Swiss label Creaked records’ newest addition: Oy. Her sound is pretty much impossible to describe; it is equal parts electronica, trip-hop and psilocybin. The folks over at Creaked were also kind enough to send over a remix from California’s Sutekh, which is equally as codeine-ed out as the original, but with a wee bit more going on in the bass department. Mmmmm… sizzurp.

Facebook yo.

So you know how facebook works; it’s the foundation of all social interaction and human life. I asked myself the question, “if you have to have facebook to be cool, how can squeegie be cool?”
So we made squeegie a facebook page. Become a fan if you know what’s good for you.
hats off to you, england
Like any blog, we get emails from artists from all over trying to get their music out there. The funniest of those messages come from England, hands down. Got one in from JSaxton today, and that was doubly a treat, because I love his tunes, and he’s quite funny, see the above and below images he sent along as part of his promo package, good shit. Check out the latest from him below, one of my main reasons for liking his songs so much is his ease of moving in and out of genres. He’s tried his hand at melow dubstep to the deepest, bassiest stuff, DnB, house, and now he reports that he’s working on some progressive house too. Jeez. Give a listen and hit up that ’space.

JSaxton – Do You Really Like It
And now for something completely different.
potato salad on the television
Philadelphia’s Rx is on the varied side of producers in dance culture. Though rooted in deep Dubstep, Rx made quite the ruckus with “Malt Liquor”, his collaboration with New York MC, Chae Hawk. “Liquor” has been supported by everyone from B.Rich, Starkey, Kanji Kinetic and was even featured on Plastician’s RinseFM Podcast as well as the Dubstep LA mix. His upcoming remixes of Jupiter One, Restiform Bodies, and forthcoming 12″ with Plastic Little’s Siyoung, are sure to generate as much hype in the Dubstep scene as “Malt Liquor”.
However, Rx’s latest productions are more varied and expansive to sit with one genre. Much like other Philadelphia native, Starkey, Rx’s forthcoming productions sound like pieces of Brian Eno, Martyn, Mad Professor, and Detroit in the 80’s. Keep an eye out for Rx in 2010 – gonna be some MASSIVE releases!!
In the meantime, here’s Pillbugs featuring Grand Buffet’s Mr. Paintbrush. This one just has a great funky feel to it, and Mr. Paintbrush lays down some great vocals. Look out for more Rx here on Squeegie in the future.

Foreign Beggars are a little sicker than I originally thought. Their latest album , ‘United Colors of Beggatron’ (which you can pick up iTunes) contains a few mad cuts including features from Stone’s Throw rapper Guilty Simpson and productions by drum n’ bass wizards Noisia. I really recommend buying this whole CD, but DO NOT go without buying the Noisia remix of “Contact” (that’s the remix you see at the end of this video). I would’ve gone crazy if I was the one who had to master that record…
Speaking of which:
