Philadelphia’s Rx is on the varied side of producers in dance culture. Though rooted in deep Dubstep, Rx made quite the ruckus with “Malt Liquor”, his collaboration with New York MC, Chae Hawk. “Liquor” has been supported by everyone from B.Rich, Starkey, Kanji Kinetic and was even featured on Plastician’s RinseFM Podcast as well as the Dubstep LA mix. His upcoming remixes of Jupiter One, Restiform Bodies, and forthcoming 12″ with Plastic Little’s Siyoung, are sure to generate as much hype in the Dubstep scene as “Malt Liquor”.

However, Rx’s latest productions are more varied and expansive to sit with one genre. Much like other Philadelphia native, Starkey, Rx’s forthcoming productions sound like pieces of Brian Eno, Martyn, Mad Professor, and Detroit in the 80’s. Keep an eye out for Rx in 2010 – gonna be some MASSIVE releases!!
In the meantime, here’s Pillbugs featuring Grand Buffet’s Mr. Paintbrush.  This one just has a great funky feel to it, and Mr. Paintbrush lays down some great vocals.  Look out for more Rx here on Squeegie in the future.
