hot lanta.
Adult Swim, aside from bringing fabulous animated programs to gentlemen like myself, has been bringing great music to the people for free for a couple of years now. I credit the ‘Swim completely with introducing me to MF Doom, through their release of his and Dangermouse’s Danger Doom album, which has remained solidly as one of my favorite hip-hop albums of the decade (and how could it not be, with Meatwad spitting a verse?). Anyway, Adult Swim has returned, with a remix compilation of southern rap songs entitled “ATL RMX”. Honestly, with its combination of southern rap and trip-hop/electronica, this mixtape seems practically made for Squeegie. The tape includes remixes of artists like Gucci Mane (free Gucci!), Shawty Lo, Gorilla Zoe and OJ Da Juiceman, but if you’re listening to this, you’re in it for the roster of remixers, which is pretty damn impressive. Hard hitters on the album include Flying Lotus (remixing Gucci Mane? oh lawd so juicy), Hudson Mohawke, Drums of Death and El-P, among others. Here’s a couple of my favorite cuts off the disc, but I see no reason not to grab the whole thing, straight up gratis, from the folks over at Adult Swim.
Gucci Mane – Photoshoot (Flying Lotus remix)
B.o.B. – Satellite (Hudson Mohawke remix)
Lil Jon feat. Kee – Give It All You Got (Drums of Death remix)
