never had a day a snowcone couldn’t fix
Aesop Rock, one of the forerunners of “backpack” rap, is someone I’d like to see getting remixed more. His flow is impeccable, and his lyrics, though sometimes cryptic and often bordering on nerdy, are pretty damn cleverly written. (A prime example of Aesop’s style: “nothing says charm like an armored car taking the clone farm ‘tards to the arms bazaar”). Anyway, Bossasaurus has made me happy, with their dope production on this remix of “None Shall Pass”, off Aesop’s most recent album of the same name. Gone is most of the gloomy piano riff of the original (which bumps), replaced with a funkier, RJD2-esque beat. Well done, gents– show the bass dinosaur some love up on itunes and beatport for more goodness. Biggups to 2DopeBoyz on the tip!
