i got a feeling…

…DJ’s will dig this shit. As i was compiling Micro Genius‘s latest set i stumbled upon a track very revealing of Laidback Luke‘s expertise as a producer. I know yall know people like to dance to songs they know, and instead of playing out some Black Eyed Peas garbage you can now light up the club with this dope rework. Also, Luke’s label Mixmash Records has just released the Step by Step/Shine Your Light EP featuring dutch DJ/Producer Gregor Salto and vocalist Mavis Acquah. These two new tracks are really dancable and come complete with some fresh remixes too, be sure support Laidback Luke and cop it on Beatport or iTunes.

if you’d read the post, you’d realize this isn’t about it being the hottest track to bump on your ipod. granted, “i got a feeling” is truly a piece of shit. but that’s not the point Mr. Glock is making here- he’s putting a setlist together for people who don’t listen to electronic music. therefore it kinda stands to reason that remixes of the shitty pop songs those people love are gonna go over the best on the dancefloor. key word in the post: danceable. dropping the latest excision and datsik DESTROYING MONSTER WOBBLE BASS BANGER is not gonna do so well at a usc frat party.

Mr. Scribbles is right. I play the Barletta edit occasionally and it kills more than most of the bangers I have because everybody knows it.

Sometimes you need to play to the crowd rather than the electro-junkies in the corner of the club.
God knows I’ve played for myself instead of the crowd sometimes and the dancefloor tends to empty. but that might also have to do with the fact that the town i live in is full of retards.
