one
As of April, Squeegie is one year old. First of all, I’d like to thank George for keeping the site running smoothly and the server in good shape. Second, to Ned, Nathan, Justin, Jack, Ethan, and Joe whose contributions make the site what it is. To all the readers, we appreciate your time more than you know, so please, if you like this site, bookmark it, we’ll try our best to get the music we love out to you.
For the anniversary, we asked a few artists and dj’s we feel are doing great things right now to throw together a mix. The results are selections from Rumblejazz, Jamtech Foundation, L.A. Boxers, Neoteric, Sduk, Cntrst, Brookah, and myself. Thanks for everyone who contributed, all of the mixes are massive! Hit the jump for downloads (if there’s a tracklist it’ll be in the “lyrics” section of the iTunes ID3 tag).

Rumblejazz – Squeegie Birthday Mix
Rumblejazz has been on our radar for a few months now, making tons of different styles in UK dance music, always keeping his tunes interesting. Expect some dubs from him in the mix, as well as a dope house set near the end. Check some of his upcoming cuts on his soundcloud page.

Jamtech Foundation – Squeegie Birthday Mix
Jamtech Foundation’s mix brings a delightful juxtaposition of fresh talent and classic movers, showcasing their signature reggae-tinted sound with the inclusion of some tracks off their new album, while rounding it all out with some big-name tunes that are sure to please.
L.A. Boxers – Squeegie Birthday Mix
London’s L.A. Boxers’ contribution fits right in with our style here at Squeegie, touching on bouncy dutch house only to flip to stomach-crunching dubstep numbers at the next turn. With such diverse names as Popof, Loefah and Greenmoney sharing space on the same tracklist, the mix is sure to have something for every ear.
Neoteric – Squeegie Birthday Mix
This mix is simply large. I asked Neoteric to do this for us, and he immediately responded with excitement, saying he had too many big tunes to put in! If you need a DJ to fill the floor without any question, Neoteric is the man. Mixing is perfect, selection is blistering. He’s got some really exciting projects coming up, including a new compilation album (forthcoming discobelle records, check the mix for some previews) and continuing the “White Light” mix project, whose motto is to feature mixes with “songs”, not “tracks”. As always, big things in the mix here from the Vancouver DJ.

If you haven’t heard Sduk‘s “Clunge”, one of the years biggest club smashers yet, please do something about it. I am excited to have gotten a mix from the man, as it features a diverse bit of everything from instrumental hip-hop to grime and his own wild, colorful beats. Expect large things in the future from the Pipedown resident.

Cntrst – Squeegie Birthday Mix
Mixes by Cntrst are not to be slept on. This one is no different. Always the freshest in what’s popping in London, enjoy some exclusives and new bits from Lil Silva, Africa Hitech, and LV. Throw this on and go for a run or something, it goes so hard!

Brookah – Squeegie Birthday Mix
Squeegie member Brookah gives us a taste of his bedroom DJ style. Veering from his banger-heavy live sets he hits us with a solid groove and less popular cuts. You can always expect high energy and a consistent groove, this one’s full some stripped down bangers slick mixing.
MacGregor – Squeegie Birthday Mix
As for my mix, the tempo gradually rises from 110 to 140, including some great stuff around now as well as songs I’ve loved for a while. Look out for some exclusives and tracks by A Tribe Called Quest, Dâm Funk, French Fries, and Ramadanman.
Hope you all enjoy the mixes, download them all!
