get on down

Tunes of high caliber as usual from the Dirtybird camp in SF, this week bringing us the brand new sounds of Justin Martin. The brothers Martin have been leaders in the tech house game for the last few years, but this release shows us a step beyond the norm. Funky purple synths, g-funk samples, and wicked percussion make their way into the mix for an EP that is not to be skipped. With support from just about anyone making similar music, just go buy the darn thing at beatport and I promise your penny will be well spent.

i love when house legends make music

Claude Vonstroke

Justin Martin and Claude Vonstroke are two of the most respected names in the American house scene.  Both coming out of San Francisco, they have been producing for several years.  Mr. Vonstroke gave the world, “Who’s Afraid of Detroit,” and it’s still getting attention, along with plenty of other tracks.  He started up Dirty Bird Records, so you gotta’ give some props for that.  Justin Martin is solidly founded in the scene as well, with at least 30 beatport releases.  Nice. This tune just seemed so appealing before I even listened.  You will not be disappointed, even you curmudgeons sitting at your computers waiting to moan about how music isn’t good anymore.  whoops, it got personal.  Enjoy this one.  Reminds me of Toadally Krossed Out, with the ribbitesque drop.  Well now you have to download it, I said ribbitesque.  The question you should be asking:  What is like a ribbit?  Find out below.  Buy the 320 at beatport.

L-Vis 1990 for Fabric

Squeegie favorite L-Vis 1990 threw down a realllllllly tough mix to promote his appearance at London’s big club Fabric earlier this May. Well, too bad we were here in the US while he probably ruined the place, so the best we can do is enjoy this one and hope he comes westward . Huge dubs inside from Justin Martin, Zinc, Lil’ Silva and the dude himself. Bigupz to dsf & sonicrouter.
