the dead weather
Deviating a bit from the typical Squeegie material, I bring you a rock band. What is “rock” anymore, does anyone really know? The genre has been around the world and back and become diluted and non-descript in the process, but The Dead Weather keeps it fresh. This is Jack White’s third group, after his stint with The White Stripes and The Raconteurs. They released their first album, Horehound, on July 14th this past summer on White’s own label, Third Man Records. It’s hard to sum up their sound, ranging from synths to organs to shredding guitar, they are an eclectic mix of noise. These are my two favorite tracks from the album in 128 kbps. The first is a good example of their heavier rock sound, while the second is a laid-back bluesy track.
The Dead Weather – No Hassle Night
The Dead Weather – Will There Be Enough Water?
I also recommend Rocking Horse and Bone House. Better yet, I recommend the full album. Chop chop.
